Set of 6 Crown Derby Plates, Cotswold Green A413 Pattern, c1939

This listing is for a set of 6 Vintage Royal Crown Derby 7¼” plates in the green colourway of the Cotswold (A413) pattern dating from about 1939.  This fine bone china is produced on the classic and very elegant Royal Crown Derby Chelsea Shape and features delicate floral and bird motifs characteristic of traditional English ceramics.

The Cotswold pattern features around the edge and in the centre of each piece with a green band in between the floral and bird motifs.  Although the pattern is always placed against a pure white background, this pattern was produced with varying colours of the banding giving each different colourway a very distinctive and different look.

Whichever colourway is used, and this one is green, the pattern was hand finished with coloured enamels and rich hand-applied gilding.
